New believers need to know that they are surrounded by a faith-community that loves them as they are and is there to support them, both in their spiritual-growth, and also in their personal lives.
As a way to unify, support, and celebrate those who have made a decision to be baptized within the last five years, Pastor Adriano organized and launched the first annual retreat for new believers in the East Mediterranean Region. This year’s 3-day retreat was entitled “Roots and Purpose” and was held at the Dhour Choueir Evangelical Center in Dhour, Lebanon.
The days were divided between group-building sessions that Pastor Adriano prepared, as well as motivating lecture sessions that were led by various leaders within EMR and the MEU theological department.
Topics covered the roots of Adventism and the Biblical prophesies that support our beliefs as a church, as well as discipleship motivation and training for reaching others for Jesus.
84 people attended the retreat to worship and fellowship together as we grew closer as a family. It was truly an amazing experience that all who attended were richly blessed by. It is our pray that next year’s retreat will be filled with many new believers who have made a decision for Christ.
