Over the course of 2025, ARISE Beirut has hosted three different cultural-themed celebrations; Mexican, Brazilian and Lebanese. Each celebration party was in close proximity to that particular country’s Independence Day, and all of the community around ARISE Beirut was invited.
In early May, we celebrated Mexico’s Independence Day with tacos, horchata, churros, mariachi music and more. It was an exciting evening of traditional Mexican music, food, costumes, games, and challenges based on people’s knowledge of Mexican culture.
On September 13, it was Brazil’s turn to be honored and celebrated. Since Pastor Adriano and his wife Pamela are both Brazilian natives, as is much of the congregation at ARISE Beirut, this night was filled with Brazilian-authenticity and a night to remember for all! Brazilian Night brought together around 80 people to celebrate the Independence Day of Brazil in a vibrant evening filled with culture, connection, and fun. Guests enjoyed traditional Brazilian food, lively games, colorful traditional clothing, and musical performances that filled the space with energy and joy. It was a beautiful night of friendship, cultural exchange, and celebration at ARISE Beirut!
Next up was Lebanon! On November 29, we celebrated Lebanon’s Independence Day. ARISE Beirut’s Business Manager, Alexandra Khoueiry, organized this exciting celebration of Lebanese culture. She is a bit of an expert in organizing Lebanese-themed events, as she is a Lebanese native. There was a huge variety of incredible Lebanese food, music, costumes, decorations and games. It was well-attended by our church family, as well as a lot of people from the Achrafieh community.
ARISE Beirut is blessed to have such a diversity of cultures within our congregation and team, and they deserve to be celebrated!
